Research objectives
We invite you to participate in a research project. Its aim is to identify collaborative practices related to the management of working time for direct service to student school staff (SSDSS). The project also aims to assess the effects of the practices on job satisfaction, sense of belonging, commitment and the physical and mental well-being of SSDSS, and to understand the conditions that need to be put in place for the practices to succeed. A secondary objective of the project is to validate the adaptation of Bergen’s Atypical Work Schedule and Sleep Questionnaire for “fragmented”, early morning, irregular and unpredictable schedules. This instrument assesses the presence of insomnia and sleepiness in relation to work schedules. There is currently no validation of this questionnaire for these types of schedules.
To take part, we ask you to answer an online questionnaire. It will take about 25 minutes. The questions concern your schedule, the presence of collaboration in your school, and various other aspects of your satisfaction and your quality of life at work.
Your participation is voluntary
You are free to answer only some of the questions. However, the research team will be able to produce a more valid picture if you answer all the questions.
Compensation
To thank you for taking the time to answer all the questions, we’re raffling off ten $100 grocery gift cards among the fully-completed questionnaires (about 1 in 150 chances of winning). Winners will receive an electronic gift card by e-mail.
Your participation is anonymous
It will not be possible at all to know the identity of the people who completed the questionnaire, as the e-mail addresses for the draw will be compiled in a database separate from the survey responses. The data will be processed and securely destroyed 5 years after the end of the project.
