Educational camps for special needs children

1 June 2020

We have just received a letter from Deputy Minister of Education Éric Blackburn announcing the creation of educational camps for special needs children.

Beginning next week, these elementary and secondary students will be able to attend classes at school on a voluntary basis.  There will be a limit of ten children per group.

The voluntary “educational camps” will also be offered to students in the Montreal Metropolitan Community and the Joliette metropolitan community.  The educationally structured camps will last for three weeks.

The children who attend will have access to school transportation.

Redeployment of resources and the use of premises will require many readjustments, especially with only three weeks left in the school year and the camps slated for the month of June.

School boards may, if they wish, continue to offer the service during the summer.
